Al Humuzah (The Traducer)


1. Wailul-likulli hu mazatil-lumazah


وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ


Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter,


2. Allazee jama'a maalanw wa 'addadah


الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ


Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by,


3. Yahsabu anna maalahooo akhladah


يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ


Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever!


4. Kallaa; layumbazanna fil hutamah


كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ


By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces,


5. Wa maa adraaka mal-hutamah


وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ


And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces?


6. Naarul laahil-mooqada


نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ


(It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze),


7. Allatee tattali'u 'alal af'idah


الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ


The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts:


8. Innahaa 'alaihim mu'sada


إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ


It shall be made into a vault over them,


9. Fee 'amadim mumaddadah


فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ


In columns outstretched.
